Weave, Wrap Coil by Jodi Bombadier is just the right book for you if you’re looking to expand your wire wrapping skills. There’s a new book out called, Weave, Wrap, Coil by Jodi Bombadier that will really help you add a sophisticated touch to your wire art jewelry. Ms. Bombadier can also help teach you how to do simple wire weaving, an added bonus to this book.
Ms. Bombadier begins her book with detail of her own journey into wire wrapped art jewelry. The next section, which describes the basics of working with wire, will give you what you need to start working on the books’s projects. Tools, the next section, is equally as thorough. You’ll learn how to weave wire in the Techniques section with five patterns to choose from. This is it if you’ve always wanted to learn to weave wire simply.
Now that Weave, Wrap, Coil has provided all basic information, it’s on to its’ beginner, intermediate and advanced projects. Just about anyone could find a project here to match and/or stretch their own skill levels. You’ll find a total of nine projects for beginners in this book which include earrings, bracelets and a pendant. The cuff is particularly appealing. Although it’s a simple project, it’s gracefully executed and designed. See the end wires to appreciate her lovely design sense.
The Intermediate section follows with another nine projects. There are two bracelets projects, one necklace, two rings, one earring, a pendant, a cuff and a woven hook in this section of the book.
The Advanced projects section of Weave, Wrap, Coil has some wonderfully challenging projects. Seven more projects are here totaling twenty-five for the entire book. As if that weren’t enough, you’ll also have the chance to learn wire weaving.
Creating Artisan Jewelry: Weave, Wrap, Coil by Jodi Bombadier, with its twenty-five projects, has something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the book’s projects have twenty or more step by step text instructions. This book also has many detailed illustrations to facilitate ease of project completion. This book is very nicely laid out indeed. Adding to the fact that this book has numerous excellent projects, Ms. Bombadier adds her beautiful and elegant design sensibilities to a craft that often lacks just that. Well done indeed.
