Can you use a pelham bit with a grackle noseband bridle?
Just wondering. I show jump, and up until now have only needed a snaffle bit on my horses, but now we’re into the big stuff, the snaffle isnt so great, and out comes the pelham.
So my question is, can you use a jointed pelham with a grackle noseband?
And if you dont think so, what sort of bridle would you go for?
so, you mean like a figure eight, or flash noseband…right????
and yes you can. It’s not too common, in the eq ring (what I do) but it sound slike you’re more of the jumper rider. In no way is that ‘illegal’ in the show books, but it may look a little strange.
A reccomendation though, is maybe a 2, or 3 ring happy mouth bit. I school my big eq horse on the flat in one of those, while at home. There great, and kind of have the same feel as a pelham, because of the leverage.
