Putting A Duvet In A Duvet Cover
Sometimes we tend to take things for granted especially when they don’t seem important. Some few weeks back I read a post in one of the industry forums about a woman who was having trouble inserting a comforter in the duvet cover. I havespent a few years writing about duvet covers online and what have you but I have never really taken the time to write a post or review ( call it whatever you like) about this.
Allow me to share with you some of the easier way you can employ when doing this. Applying these tips will save you a lot of time and also damage to your brown duvet covers or other colors you have that may be as a result of “violent” pulling and stretching.
Different people do this differently. I once met a woman who actually crawls inside her flannel duvet covers in order to stretch and flatten the comforter while inside. I am not sure I would ever do that myself – unless you are sure that your floor, where you’d have to lay the cover, is clean and germ free and clean then you can try out this one.
One easier way to do it effectively is to simply roll it up like a carpet. Once you’ve done that just put it in the duvet and unroll it. My favourite way, however, is to simply turn it inside out and line up the corner of the quilt with the inside seam of your cover. From there you just flip it right side out while still holding on to the corners.
Another option is to buy and use some duvet clips. When using these, you just turn the cover inside out, line it up with duvet then put a clip at each corner at the seam. The best recommended clip to buy is one that is covered in soft foam. After you’ve attached the clips on to the quilt and seam you can then flip the cover right side out and it will remain in place – and you will be done.
