Why are boots not allowed in dressage competitions?
What is the reason for not being able to show your horse (dressage) in boots or wraps? You are allowed them in warm up but why not in the actual test? I originally thought it was because it would take much too long for ring stewards to check boots and make sure there is nothing bothering or helping the horse. However in reining competitions aren’t boots allowed? Is it just for the elegance of how the horse looks without wraps? Thanks
I always wondered the same thing. I always school my horse in polos and then I have to take them off before the test – annoying!!!!! Like you said, how come reiners and jumpers get to wear them?? My aunt is a dressage judge and she said that it’s not just for appierence but your horse should be able to move freely without any divices/ aids during your performance. That’s why you don’t see many dressage riders – at least not the good ones – using draw reins or running martingales to get their horse to gome on the bit. I would hope they start alowing people to at lest use white polos. They are still classy looking.
