how do I use Dutch gag (bubble bit)?

i have just got a Dutch gag for me extremely strong and cheeky pony who I am backing what ring should I put the reins on
this horse is being RE-BACKED by me! i am switching to a bubble bit because she has been in the snaffle for the past six months but has proven to strong for this bit! she is a six year old 14.2hh Connemara X who was professionally broke as a 3 year old (not very well) she is a strong pony who bucks ALOT!!
i just want to know which hole I should but the rein on to PLEASE

oooh – I wouldn’t use a dutch gag on a horse I was just backing – it’s much too severe. If the pony is being cheeky, you need to do some groundwork with him to get his attention and respect, then carry on with the backing process. If he’s just being backed you need to keep him in a snaffle. Do not use a dutch gag (or anything other than a snaffle) for the breaking and backing process, and on until he’s going under saddle and understands bit pressure (at least 90 days training). You’ll really screw him up if you do..

EDIT: Oh, I see. What you should do is start with the reins on the hole closest to the central ring. The further down the shanks you go, the stronger (more leverage) you have with the bit. I would still say that if you can solve the problem with a full cheek snaffle and lots of lateral work – using one rein to pull her around when she won’t listen to light aids to stop, or when she starts to buck. The leverage of the dutch gag will help with her wanting to tank off but not with bucking.
