Karzai Confesses Taking Bags Of Cash From Iran
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has been named a “puppet president” by some and head of a corrupt regime by others. Now he tells – but does not shock – the collective world media that he has been receiving “bags of cash” from Iran and also the U.S. for years. One wonders whether those political enemies are pleased with the Karzai their money can purchase.
‘Official presidential expenses’ is the excuse Hamid Karzai gives to take money
Hamid Karzai gets regarding $700,000 to $975,000 in gifts as “donations” from Iran once or twice a year. Karzai said that the U.S. government has known about this Iranian assistance for many years and that Washington also sends the Afghan palace “bags of cash.”. Iran had been giving Umar Daudzai money, reports the New York Times, which is why numerous think Karzai might have made this announcement. Afghan lawmakers, tribal elders and high-ranking Taliban officials are paid with all of this money.
Karzai usually takes cash from ‘several nations’ because his agency does not have revenue
Before the Taliban regime in 2001 fell, Afghanistan’s economy was really bad, accounts the CIA World Factbook. The nation has been getting international assistance however is still considered poor and “highly dependent on foreign aid, agriculture and trade with neighboring nations.”. This is what the claim is after all. Still, everybody knows Afghanistan sells more opium and hashish product than anywhere else. A lot of money comes from the opium and other illegal drug trade which is why Karzai wouldn’t be that interested in stopping it. This has the Obama administration frustrated with the country. Afghan polls cited by Today’s Views indicate that Karzai’s public views him as an ineffective ruler. The reason for this, say various sources on Wikipedia, isn’t what people assume. The economy in Afghanistan is agriculture based upon. Since poppies sell one of the most in Afghanistan, poor farmers end up within the drug business whether or not that is what they’d hope to be doing. The farmers don’t end up getting much cash out of it either. Since other countries are feeding Karzai so much money, this makes sense. Karzai probably is just taking it.

Surfin’ Safari / Surfin’ USA $5.66 Seeking to Capitol-ize on their local L.A. indie-label novelty hit, “Surfin’,” the Beach Boys and their nascent sound (tales of innocent SoCal hedonism set to equal parts doo-wop vocal influences and Chuck Berry licks) were produced on these initial releases by the A&R exec who signed them, Nik Venet. But if Brian Wilson’s production genius was yet untapped, his songwriting knack, trademark arrang… |

End of Amnesia $9.71 As one might expect from an album called End of Amnesia, a dateless aura exists within, as if it could have been recorded 100 years ago or 100 years from now. Ward’s intriguing tunes are sung in hushed tones, and his fragile voice has an offbeat beauty even whe… |
