how do I check the make of a saddle?
I was given a saddle (western) and I can’t tell the make.
It has no apparent markings, and I don’t have a picture but I can try to describe it.
It is brown and black leather with a square skirt. The seat is synthetic and a chocolate brown. There is silver on the corners of the skirt and a flower like pattern in most of the leather.
It has black felt on the underside, completely covering the bottom of the tree and skirt area.
Also it is insanely light, I can lift it with one hand.
Any thoughts?
Check under the stirrup straps or any flaps, sometimes it is there.
The main synthetic brands (the really light saddles) are Cordura and Abetta for western, so it is most likely one of these, but there are many other brands it could be.
