Fetlock Boots
why does my horse walk funny when i put jumping boots on him?
I bought some brand new Roma Neoprene boots both fron and fetlock. I tried them on my horse just the right hand sides front and back and he began walking funny. I just lead him around in a circle but that was enough for me to see he’s not used to them.
How can I desensitize him from them as we’re getting into show jumping this season and he knocks the bars a lot lol.
LOL he feels the material on his legs, and instinctively is trying to step out of it, as if he was walking through tall grass or brush. He just isn’t used to it yet. It probably feels like something is stuck to his leg. (because it is! lol)
I have a HILARIOUS video of my horse, Koda, the first time he wore boots, lifting his legs like two feet in the air! He reminded me of an old drunk trying to walk. Its one of the funniest things, and never gets old.
