Fresh Information On Stomach Acid
Most of us have experienced the discomfort of heartburn or indigestion as we wolf down a juicy hamburger laden with “the works”, or gulp down an ice cold bottle of our favorite beer. You would assume that gastric acid is the cause of your discomfort and immediately resort to antacids, but this may not be the right thing to do.

To understand the cause of your heartburn or discomfort, it’s important to know what is happening within your stomach. Gastric juice is produced by small glands that line the wall of your stomach. The main component of this gastric juice is hydrochloric acid (HCl) that fulfills two important roles:
1. HCl acts as the first line of defense against food-borne pathogens (e.g. bacteria, fungi, and parasites), and
We all know that funny commercial about the pink miracle drug that will rid you all of these problems. Well, I said funny because it is funny to the most of the population, perceiving it as something normal, that happens to everybody, something that just cannot be avoided. Plus, whenever it happens it is always in your reach, it is convenient and easy to use. Good for the pink stuff manufacturer, not quite for you. As long as you think that you can eat whatever you want, and go unpunished, he is in business, and you are going to suffer.
In that commercial if you remember there is a line up of junk food delivery guys waiting happily in front of your door to serve you. You are opening the door with a big smile. Everybody’s happy, you, delivery guy, drug manufacturer. Everybody wins, doesn’t it?

Optimally, the pH of your gastric juice should be between 1 and 2. These juices are very acidic (the pH scale is from 0 to 14), but your gastric fluid needs to be this acidic so as to destroy food and water-borne bacteria and other harmful pathogens, such as Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori).
Cause of any disease is acidic body. When our lymphatic fluids become too acidic, because of the shortage of alkaline minerals, the production of stomach acid goes low. With low stomach acid we cannot digest foods. Without proper food digestion there is no electro magnetic energy that we need to sustain life. The same day that our digestion gets impaired, is the day we start getting sick.
During day when in fact is needed, stomach acid with its poor output is not able to completely digest food, so food just sits there undigested and rots. This rotting smell backs up, thus bad breath. During night though, when stomach is empty of food, this stomach acid accumulates, and in the horizontal position while we sleep, it goes up causing acid reflux or heartburn.
