Carp fishing tackle may be specially made. Below is a short compilation of some relative words associated with carp fishing products and carp fishing gear.
Words Which Refer to the Carp Species
Barbels: The 2 organs on the upper jaw of a carp that look like whiskers. Barbels assist carp in locating food in muddy water.
Cloopers: The carp that feed at the top of the water.
Mudders: Carp that are feeding on the bottom. This is proven by all the mud they kick to the surface.
Coarse fish: A fish that doesn’t belong to either the trout or the salmon species.
Carp Fishing Tackle -Words that Refer to Carp Tackle and Rigs
Leader: A piece of very strong line which measures about 30 to 40 ft.. Leaders are affixed to the main line; they are less apt to be apraded. Then, a hook length is connected to the leader’s end so that you can attach the the carp bait.
Shock leader: A piece of really strong line that can handle the powerfulness of long casts.
Feeder: A less important part of carp tackle; it is a cage which is connected to the leader rather than a sinker. Bait is pushed into a feeder to draw the carp to the hook’s bait.
Float: A bobber that’s more sensitive than the familiar white and red globes. Floats are slim and long; they serve as both signals for bite detecting and introducing the bait to a carp fish.
Semi-fixed: A part of carp fishing tackle that will let the leader disengage from the line if there is a snag. A bolt rig is a type of semi-fixed rig which will (by self-acting) hook carp at the time that the leader tightens up.
Fixed: Concerns leaders or tackle that stay in place on the line and don’t come loose if the main line tears.
Stringer: A number of baits with no hooks which are fixed near the hooked bait as free hanging bait.
Terms Regarding Carp Bait
Tiger nut: A small size tuber that serves as outstanding carp catching bait which is terrific bait for attracting carp}. Prior to using them, tiger nuts need to be boiled so that they become sticky and thick.
Chum: A bait which is hurled into the water to draw the fish to the general area of the bait that is attached to the hook.
Boilie: A piece of dough that is round and hardened and used for bait. Boilies are comprised of a number of different grains and mixed in water to create a thick piece of dough; the dough is then formed into balls and boiled.
