NEW STYLES HIDE THE FAULTS, AND FLAUNT THE CURVES
The onset of warmer weather may lift our spirits but it can also lower our self-confidence, especially when it comes to buying new swimwear.
Women are obsessed with their bodies, according to a report in the Daily Mail which covered a survey by cosmetics company, Garnier. Researchers interviewed 3000 women aged between 18 and 40 in the UK, USA and Australia and found that seven per cent thought about their bodies 50 times a day with a further 20 per cent worrying about their shape 10 times a day.
Tummies and posteriors were the least favourite areas.46% of women who were surveyed said they wanted to be firmer and flatter around their middle, with twenty per cent wanting a better butt.There was also widespread disatisfaction with other parts of the body, with 14% not happy with their legs, 10% not happy with their breasts and 4% desiring ‘new’ arms.
With all that unhappiness, it’s no wonder that most women dread buying new swimwear.
However, with new styles from a manufacturer who really understands what the market wants, no woman has anything more to fear.Viva Swimwear, a swimwear manufacturer based in Perth, took cognisance of their customers’ feedback and has designed new styles to flatter every shape.
One of the new styles is a longer length tankini top which comes in sizes ten to 18, and which has gathering up the sides to flatter a women’s tummy area. A new halter style top with soft cups allows women to select their own support.Women who’ve had mastectomies can also use these swim tops as they can insert their own pads into the cups.
The colours for the new season include purple, black, white, brown and pink.Purple and teal are the new season colours for the chlorine-resistant swimwear range, which is always a hit. For younger wearers, the new tie-side swimwear pants and bras come in a variety of fashionable colours and prints.
And for all those women who can’t bear the thought of stripping down under the bright lights of the shop changeroom, Viva Swimwear recently upgraded their website so that online shoppers can view the swimwear from the back as well as the front.Now that’s a good example of customer service in action.
Another popular look for the new season is to match swimwear with wraps or cover-ups. The best-dressed ladies on the beach this summer will be wearing fashionable cover-ups including kaftans, dresses, tops and pants.And as every woman with a fuller figure is well aware – these have been very difficult to track down.
