Harry Hall

Information Regarding Harry Potter Tours
Imagine visiting all of the places where the popular Harry Potter movies were filmed. All locations are in Great Britain and can be seen in only five hours. Also, for those avid fans, there is a ten hour option as well. There are private Harry Potter tours available and they are fun for the entire family.
During the day you will visit London, Oxford, and Gloucester and you will have your own personal guide to show you everything. The guide will collect your group in London either by car or minibus depending on how many people are in your group.
Numerous scenes at Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were filmed at the iconic Oxford University. In the first movie, Professor McGonagall welcomes the young children by Oxford’s grand staircase. In addition, Oxford provided the dining room, or Great Hall, which is where the students eat their meals. The Library at Oxford served as the infirmary in the films where many students had to be healed.
In the second movie ‘The Chamber of Secrets’ and in the fourth film, ‘The Goblet of Fire, ‘ Oxford is the setting for the scene in which Mad-eyed Moody shows students the three unforgivable curses in their Defense Against the Dark Arts class. This is also where he turned Draco Malfoy into a ferret, much to the dismay of Professor McGonagall.
Another location where the famous trio were shot was at the Norman Cathedral of Gloucester. This has been a functioning church for over 1300 years. The scenes that include talking ghosts or moving portraits in the first movie were shot in this very place. The Cathedral is also the setting in the second movie when Moaning Myrtle appears and the red writing begins appearing the hall corridors. This signals the Chamber of Secrets being opened for the first time in years. The sixth movie, ‘The Half-Blood Prince, ‘ was also filmed here.
If you’d like to take an another hour or so on the tour, you can also visit Lacock Abbey. This is where numerous classroom scenes were filmed. The Lacock village was also featured in period films such as Emma and Pride and Prejudice. It is especially beautiful in the summer months. While in Oxford, other sights can be visited as well.
If you are a Harry Potter fan who will be in the London area, Harry Potter tours are the perfect sightseeing option. They are an excellent choice for large and small groups alike. Remember, to have your wand at the ready, you never know when a Death Eater will be lurking in a dark corner waiting to curse you!

The Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection $6.58 Sarah Brightman’s career was launched by her success in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, so it’s no surprise to hear the soprano paying homage to the composer on this disc. Really a Brightman best-of, the album includes the Phantom theme (a duet with Michael Crawford), the light-opera fare of “Chanson D’enfance” from Aspects of Love, “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” from Evita, and numerou… |

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Walt Disney’s Masterpiece) [VHS] $2.75 One of the brightest nuggets from Disney’s golden age, this 1937 film is almost dizzying in its meticulous construction of an enchanted world, with scores of major and minor characters (including fauna and fowl), each with a distinct identity. When you watch Snow White’s intricate, graceful movements of fingers, arms, and head all in one shot, it is not the technical brilliance of Disney’s artists… |

Great Mcginty [VHS] $14.98 In 1940, Preston Sturges’s success at writing for stage and screen emboldened him to make Paramount Pictures an offer they couldn’t refuse: a virtually free script in exchange for the chance to direct it himself. Commonplace today, the strategy was novel but successful, making Sturges one of the first star writer-directors, and earning him an Oscar for that fateful screenplay. The Great McGin… |

Separate But Equal [VHS] $9.98 One of the most pivotal moments in 20th century American history is bracingly dramatized in Separate but Equal. In telling the detailed story of the Supreme Court’s 1953 decision to abolish racial segregation in schools, this superb 1991 TV movie covers a broad spectrum of issues, never taking its “eyes off the prize” while its first-rate cast conveys the importance of the Supreme Court’s ultimate… |
