Samsung ML 1250 – A Smart Business Judgment
The Samsung ML 1250 printer – Samsung ML 1250 toner combo works well for the home-level office, without doubt. This mono laser printer is not a networkable unit, but it’ll be more than adequate for just about any desktop application in that same home office, linked as it will be a single personal computer or Mac on the desk, or to a laptop. The best toner for this printer is the Samsung ML 1250 toner.
Hooking the printer to a computer is fairly straightforward. The ML 1250 comes with standard USB and parallel printer ports, which gives it adequate flexibility. There is no Base-TX 10/100 Ethernet or modern 801.11 wireless functionality, but it probably isn’t needed for most printer-to-single-computer situations. The unit doesn’t come with a USB or serial cable, so keep that mind when purchasing.
Printer speed comes in at around 12ppm, which is good enough for this sort of printer. A plus is that it also has a fine 1200dpi print resolution, which can be scaled down to 300dpi, if extreme sharpness is not a requirement for the print job in question. 1200dpi is double the resolution of the printer in the line-up it’s replacing. As usual, print output speeds will vary by the job, in keeping with the graphics or text richness inherent within the task job.
There is also 4MB of standard onboard memory in the Samsung ML 1250. This can be increased up to 68MB, which should be more than enough to handle just about any job. This includes card stock, transparencies or even graphics-rich posters and the like. And the ML 1250 was built to be more energy-wise than the older model formerly occupying this place in the Samsung universe.
This laser printer is made to work in most Windows and Mac operating system environments. It can also be joined up with Linux platforms, too. The flexibility inherent in this arrangement is an attractive feature in a machine in this price range, which is low. Paper feeds into the printer at the top, from a 150-sheet cassette tray. The look is reminiscent of a fax or ink jet printer, more than anything else. It’s also a lightweight unit that’s easy to move around the office.
This laser printer can be used handily enough through its simple-to-use control panel. Plus, it has a “Toner Save” capability which will help to stretch out the toner’s lifespan to at least its stated output maximums. If extreme resolution and clarity is not a concern, this may make a good option to use.
The Samsung ML 1250 toner cartridge is good for about 2,500 pages before needing replacement. If just pages of text are printed, the unit should deliver on that promised number. If graphics-heavy jobs are the norm, then expect the toner to deliver less capacity.
As a working team, the Samsung ML 1250 printer and ML 1250 printer cartridge perform every job with grace and aplomb, delivering clean copy in an acceptable manner. It will also do so at a low cost-per-page price, for the most part. With a maximum monthly duty cycle of around 12,000 pages, maintenance should be infrequent, giving it sturdiness and long life. ML 1250 printer toner is the best toner.
