Searching for Rhododendron vacation property
If you thought that the term “rhododendron” referred only to the flower, you are wrong – Rhododendron is also one of several very desirable Mt. Hood Villages in the Mount Hood corridor in Oregon. Rhododendron is a great little community that is very easily accessible, located right off of I-26, also called Mt. Hood Highway.
Rhododendron is a pretty, flower-filled community, as one might expect, filled with plenty of its namesake, the rhododendron flower. The rhododendron flowering shrub and its relative, the azalea, both bloom in early Spring, bringing the Mt. Hood community alive with rich color.
One reason for the high popularity of the Mt. Hood area is its proximity to the Portland metro area. Portland is only an hour away from Rhododendron, making it an ideal place for Portland residents and retirees to escape to the serene natural wilderness on Mt. Hood. After a long week of work, a short hop to a Rhododendron vacation home is a welcome relief from busy city life for many residents. There are plenty of things to do in Rhododendron, including enjoying outdoor sports like fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and bird watching, as well as enjoying the abundant wildlife and natural scenery.
The Mt. Hood area is drop-dead gorgeous. The area is known for its stunning mountain real estate, and Rhododendron doesn’t disappoint. If you are looking for a quiet vacation property to build a custom home, a secluded cabin in the woods, or a nice piece of horse property, Rhododendron real estate offers anything you could ever want.
Other Mt. Hood Villages
Rhododendron is one of several other communities that make up what is known as the Mt. Hood Villages, or the Villages at Mt. Hood. Other villages in the area are Brightwood and Welches to the west of Rhododendron, and Government Camp to its east. All of these mountain communities can be searched for homes and land for sale.
Here’s little tip for potential new residents of Rhododendron – locals will sometimes refer to the Oregon mountain community by its shorthand name of “Rhodo.”
