Need info when to change skates!?
Well as a Christmas gift I was given Lake Placid brand figure skates.http://www.amazon.com/Women-27s-Lake-Placid-Insulated-Skates/dp/images/B000JQK9A6/ref=dp_image_x_0?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&img=0&qid=1264970284&sr=8-1&color_name=x
They don’t hurt or anything but I’m not doing anything special yet: I am in basic 2. I’m not sure if these skates will last very long because they aren’t a very good brand (I keep them in good condition though) so what level will I need to change skates?
So:
1) What level should I change skates?
2) What type should I get when I do change? (Brand, model, etc.)

1) When you get to Basic 4, you’ll probably find the one-footed three turns difficult because the Lake Placid skates don’t provide enough support for you to lean and twist the ankle. So plan on getting new skates around Basic 4 or 5.
2) Get Riedell Bronze Medallions or Jackson Artiste skates. Those are good leather skates with decent blades that hold sharpenings well.
