Ostrich leather is another alternative for watch straps. Ostrich skin makes very attractive leather watches. This leather type is more elastic and soft than the crocodile’s. The leathers are known for their ability to withstand the test of time and the gentle skin. Those who prefer ostrich leathers are accomplished people who make a difference in their fields.
Stingray straps are the other leather options used by the companies for the watches. Stingrays serve as part of the local fare in some countries. People from Japan and China particularly like the healthy meat they derived from stingrays.
In the olden times, the stingray leather was used by Japanese warriors like the Samurai for their swords. The leather is said to enable the Japanese have better grip of their swords. This is one of the many wonderful qualities of a stingray leather. It non-flammable characteristics that make it safe even if exposed to fire.
Each stingray leather differs from other stingray leathers. A stingray has a characteristic diamond symbol at its back that is totally unique from others. No two have similar features. The stingray leather used in the watch strap is therefore different from the other straps. This is the reason why leather from stingrays are greatly sought after by the watch sellers.
