Jodphurs and Breeches?
is there any difference between mens and womens jodphurs and breeches?
Jodphurs generally run lower on the leg, have foot straps and are worn with either tall boots or paddock boots. Breeches are generally meant for harder riding and are found more commonly with full leather or some synthetic grip material in the seat and knee patches generally worn only with tall boots.
As for a difference between men’s and women’s:
Men’s are available looser cut though this can be undesirable for many riders There are subtle differences in the “structure” of the breeches to allow for the difference in size between male and female and for the anatomy thereto. I prefer customs personally, they are really not that much more expensive, you just have to have your measurements sent to any of the major manufacturing companies and any tack shop should be able to do this for you. Then you will have a good pair that will fit you perfectly.
