Neoprene, Mohair (string), or Fleece? What cinch do you prefer? (western)?
I’ve always used neoprene cinches on all my western saddles and never had a problem. I’ve never used Mohair, but I’d like to try it. Any of you use a mohair cinch? Do you like it? Do you prefer it over neoprene? I’ve heard that the strings can pinch the horse’s skin, is that true?
On my English saddle I have a fleece girth that I like a lot, but it’s certainly not show-worthy. I have a leather one for if I ever decide to show english. I’ve used the leather one once and I hated it. But it also doesn’t have any elastic or rollers on the buckles, so it’s a pain to put on.
the rope cinches or mohair tends to rot over time and could give your horse a fungus on his girth area…fleece is okay but the horses hair gets stuck in it and builds up pretty bad and is a pain to get out….NEOPRENE is definitely the way to go in my books…doesnt rot and unwanted hair can be removed with ease 
plus i think it looks nicer
