Dog Show People: Where can I find a chain or rolled nylon martingale w/o a lead?
I am weaning my dog off of the Gentle Leader and feel that a martingale will be an acceptable alternative as a last step before going to just his regular collar. However, I prefer to use my own leash, so I do not want a collar/lead combo. And, if the collar is nylon, it MUST be rolled or thin nylon so as not to ruin my husky’s coat like flat collars do. Any websites to recommend to find this type of collar?
My dog is NOT a show dog, I am only addressing show people as I think they may best know where to find this type of collar. I am only training my dog to pass his CGC test, where head collars and any kind of harness is NOT allowed. However, training collars are allowed. I will be taking my CGC through PetSmart, where a martingale or limited slip collar is allowed, but pinch and chokes are not.
If you can attend a dog show, you’ll find anything you could possibly want for sale at the booths. They have a lot of great dog stuff that pet shops don’t carry.
