Golf clothing for men should always correspond to form and function. Legends like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods know their golf clothing and are known to sport a dashing style in the field. This made watching them even a more spectacular experience.

Style adapts to the times and golf clothing for men have become much more hip than before. Look on any given Sunday and you’ll notice that several of the golfers are sporting some flash.
The Polo Shirt
Country club rules dictate that you should always wear a shirt with at least a one-inch collar. The purpose is to maintain a little bit of formality on the golf course. Men used to wear long sleeved shirts when playing golf, but when the polo shirt was introduced it became a phenomenon. It allowed everyone to wear something dressier than an ordinary shirt and still look appropriate.
You can still choose to wear a long-sleeved shirt, but many golf courses encourage golf clothing for men to be more casual. Various labels from classic design houses all provide classic polo shirts, while the more modern players go for brands like Oakley, Nike, and Adidas. Designers employ modern technology to make their apparel, they often consider the weather conditions to ensure that playing is comfortable.
Polo shirts work great in warm or tropical weather, especially those made of lightweight fabrics. When playing in colder conditions wear a golf sweater over your shirt. You could also opt for a golf jacket or a golf vest which appeals to the younger players.
Golf polo shirts normally have a shirttail to prevent from coming undone. Modern designers though, often provide ones that don’t have vents on the sides as well as tails. There are many different designs for polo shirts and they come in every color of the rainbow.
Golf Trousers
Do you notice the men in the field with multi-pleated pants billowing in the wind? You do not want to emulate those guys. A nice belt would be make of genuine leather, and if you like belts with fancy metal tips, make sure they are discreet. Your golf trousers should not have cuffs. Cuffs tend to trap dirt, and if you end up in the bunker, you’re going to go drag a lot sand with you.
Some players prefer to wear golf shorts on the course. Shorts are acceptable on today’s golf course, as long as they are not denim. On your country club courses men golf clothes do not include jeans because jeans are considered to be too casual. Golf shorts should be a bit above the knee to be considered okay.
Golf Socks
Golf clothing for men is never complete without golf socks. To be absolutely proper you should always remember to match you socks to your golf pants or your golf shoes particularly if you are wearing golf shorts.
Since most golf clothes such as shirts and jackets tend to come in bright and pastel colors, balancing them with neutral tones in trousers always does the trick. This is why your golf socks should come in neutral and muted colors too. They should be high enough on your calf as to not show any skin when your golf pants are hiked up.
If golf shorts are what you like to wear, you must take care to match them with your golf shoes. Saddle shoes are a popular choice, but you should take care to wear white socks with them, no matter what the two tones are. If you do wear black shoes, you should pair them with black socks, no question.
Miscellaneous Golf Attire Accessories
A hat will keep the sun off your face. Straw hats are appropriate, but the more modern golfers like to wear baseball style caps. Some people also wear sunglasses. Golf shoes are ideal with metal spikes, but some country clubs have banned the use of these, which led shoe manufacturers to develop golf shoes with plastic spikes instead.
