Hey everyone 
Hope your having a good day
I have a 14week old puppy, hes half jack russel terrier,and half poodle.
He’s three punds And his name is Hershey
Is it normal for his ribs to be slightly lower than his abdomen? His ribs don’t stick out much, they are just lower if you look at him from the side
And how can I get my puppy to calm down when I trim his nails? I try petting him, giving him a rawhide, but he screams and freaks out no matter what 
I haven’t hurt his nails at all, i trimmed them correctly

He is a cutie! When my toy poodle was little, I would wait until he was asleep and then trim his nails. He never woke up to fuss. Make sure you make a point to handle his feet at various times during the day, just lift them, press on the pads, separate the toes. Give him treats and love while you do this, without the clippers. That way he will get used to you touching his feet and he will associate it with good things. Most dogs do not like their feet to be handled. You may have to get someone to hold him while you trim them the first few times.
His shape is perfectly normal for a poodle breed. If you look at his back from above, you will notice that he has a defined “waist” also. He will look like an hourglass from above. Good luck!
