Sell or save (20 characters)?
When I bought my Billy Cook saddle a few years ago, it came with a headstall and breast collar. I use the headstall and the saddle, but I’ve never used the breast collar. I’m planning on getting a new headstall within the next year, and at some point in the next 5 years, I want to get a different saddle (this is a roper/pleasure saddle and I want a cutting saddle).
So my question is, should I break up this beautifully matched set (matching conchos, and the same detailed tooling) and sell the unneeded breast collar and headstall, or hang onto them and sell them all together when I buy a new saddle? What is more attractive to buyers and what will get me more money for them?
My biggest regret was selling my Billy Cook cutting saddle when I moved back to Alberta from Louisiana:(. That is one saddle, when you get it you will never part with!! Your best bet as Billy Cook has a good resale value is to keep it as a set. When you do part with it it will bring you more money than if you sold it separately.
