what do you think of this saddle to just train in? i would probably get a show saddle with silver on it for showing. any other saddles that you know of under $800 please put links on!
I have seen (and ridden) a few of the cheaper kings and do not like them at all. Had someone try and sell me one so I tried it out and even though he priced it low I passed. Didn’t care for it at all.
I recommend you try a Dakota or American Saddlery. But get a better one not the 2 or 3 hundred dollar one.
There ore basically two categories of saddles.
Keepers and beginners
Keeper saddles are ones that you buy to keep for years to come. Beginner saddles are those that you buy to decide whether you are going to continue to ride or whether this is just a passing phase. Depending on the brand keeper saddles range from about 400 to thousands (saw one last week for $9,995.00. Beginner saddles range from $200 to $800. The king I saw was definitely a beginner saddle as are the cheaper American Saddlery. My neighbor has a dakota and he likes it a LOT! Or did he can no longer ride due to a back injury so is selling the complete set of saddle, pads, bridles, and all for $600. I wouldn’t mind getting it but do not have the cash right now. Its a penning saddle with a roping horn and bear trap swells. 17 inch seat. Semi-quarter horse bars.
