How to measure a horse for a fly sheet/winter blanket?
How exactly do you measure a horse to get a good fitting? If your measurement is not in one of the size options, how much do you round, up or down?
LQ: Do you actually find fly sheet beneficial to a horse? They don’t seem to protect the areas where the flies like to go IMO. What do you think?
******And do you have trouble with your fly sheet/blanket ripping when the horse rolls? Also, What’s the best brand of sheets/blankets to get that won’t be damaged? Thanks!
You measure from the center of their chest to their tail, making sure you go over the widest part of their body. I’ve got this one for my horses and I love it. They don’t seem to sweat as much with it on, and it’s been extremely durable. I only wish I had gotten the one with a neck cover since one of my mares seems to get crazy amounts of flies on her neck.

Edit: You should round up if they are in between sizes, better a little big then a little small. In the case of these sheets, they run a little big so go down a size. One of my mares normally wears an 84 and the 84 was more like an 86.
