What Saddle Size!? Help!?
I found an amazing deal on a dressage saddle on ebay but was wondering if you thought an 18″ saddle would fit me? I’m medium built and about 5’6″ and my current saddle is a 17.5″. So should the 18″ be alright? The saddles’ skirt is 17″ long?
Also how do you measure a saddles tree? Any pictures that would help me? My TB has always been a regular or medium tree, so what size would probably work for him? 30cm? 32? [[ I am going to try the saddle, I just want to be pretty sure that it will fit! ]]

Seat size depends on the length of your thigh compared to the length and angle of the flap. If the flap is going to end within an inch of the top of your boot, then it is likely to catch at inopportune times. If the flap is too long and straight, and your leg too short, then the aids will be blocked by the flap.
Different styles and brands of saddles will fit you differently even when the measurements of the saddle are similar. If there is not a tack store near you that will do trials, check with local boarding and training stables to see if you can bring your horse (with his negative Coggins) and try all the different saddles available at that barn. We do this fairly often here. It’s a great way to see many different saddles in person, and get to sit in at least some of them. Then you can have a short list of brands and styles that you can watch for on e-bay.
