Which ‘Pasture Buddy’ would you choose?
Okay, this is just a fun question. Say your horse is lonely and you’ve got tons of extra space and money, so you decide to get a pasture buddy. Which of these would you choose?
1. Honeybee – Red roan crossbred mare, 21 years, 14.2hh, low on the pecking order, sweet, and calm. The reason she is a pasture buddy only is because she is prone to lameness. She has a deformity in her fetlock joints in her hind feet that cause her to become very sore, therefore she is a pasture buddy only.
2. Domino Effect – Black tobiano paint, 33 years old, 15.3hh. He is a very beautiful gelding that has once been a stud and the sire of many champions. He is great with everybody but is skittish around vehicles. He was shown in halter as a yearling and has won many 1sts. He is now a pasture buddy only, because he is old and feeble and would be much happier grazing all day.
