Suede Chaps

Half Chaps Question :}}}?
I have a schooling show coming up on the 27th. I will probably wear Tall Boots but I need to know how to clean my half chaps in case. The tags for the Half Chaps said to wash with saddle soap, but the saddle sopa says “Not for Use on Suede”, which they are. I’m in a pickle. :]
Hey, and this is exciting; recognized dressage will now allow half chaps though first level!!!! This is just in from the USDF convention! Now my students will be able to show in our grass roots show….
Anyway, what I find works best is to use a clean dandy brush first, only on the outside of the leg. The side next to the horse doesn’t need to be refurbished. I have a pan scrubber (only used on the half chaps) that can be used dry or wet. The less water you get on the chaps, the better as the water will cause the chaps to lose their shape. If there is a really discolored part, put some cream shoe polish on the scrubber, brush lightly and let dry thoroughly, then scrub/brush with the now dry scrubber, and they will look good without loosing the fit and form of your leg!
