Shotput Shoes for the Glide Technique
Shotput shoes for the glide technique are different than shotput shoes for the rotational, or spin technique. The glide offers a different dynamic for both your upper body and for your lowerbody. When using the glide technique, your shotput shoes need to have a excellent rubber gripping sole. This is to provide traction and stability. Yourshotput shoes also need to have strong uppers, so it can handle all of the forces that are involved in throwing the shot. One of the key differences between the shotput shoes for the glide and shotput shoes for the spin are the the shoes for the spin are more molded so that you stay on the balls of your feet. Shotput shoes for the glide are flatter to facilitate the horizontal movement accross the shotput circle. The athletic shoe companies make shotput shoes for the glide also. Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Reebok, Asics, and Puma all make great shotput shoes.

When finding the right shotput shoe for you, you have to try it on. It should fit a little more snug than your normal shoe. Any additional fasteners or straps, other than the laces are a plus to provide stability. Shotput shoes for the glide should fit well, and be durable. Many times, your drills or plyometrics will be done with your shoes on. So get out there. Pick you shotput shoes, practice, and have fun.
