Prom date is wearing dark navy blue, whiteshirt/black vest/navy blue tie?

Prom is coming up soon, and my date will be wearing a dark navy blue dress.
I would wear a black suit, white dressshirt, and a matching dark navy blue tie/vest, but I’ve looked everywhere and I could not find a matching vest (they either didnt match, out of stock, or don’t have my size). I do however, have a tie that matches very closely.

Mens Warehouse recommended me to wear a black vest and a dark navy blue tie, since black is a neutral color. Would that look good? i think my date’s dress is pretty dark.
