should I have taken the chance?
I went to the barn today and brushed my horse, put her brand new blanket on (weatherbeeta original orican lite) for the first time. She is in the paddock with about 10 other horses…who have never seen a blanket before…do you think it will be in pieces when I get there in the morning?
I can’t change her paddock and I would rather keep it on her to prevent rain rot(where I live, it gets REALLY wet!)
she is the dominant one out of the whole pack.
but when i left the barn…a saw one chewing on the tail flap… :S
No I don’t think it will be too bad. Plus if she keeps the herd in order anyway. My mare is also the queen of her herd of 2(ha ha 2 geldings that practically drool over her). And they don’t go bugging her unless they want to be killed(ok ha ha she isn’t that aggressive but she can be really prissy). So I think the horses will be fine. Is your horse used to blankets? I am guessing so. Did you like recently move her to a new barn or something? The other horses might look at it and think “wtf is that?” but I don’t think it will be in pieces.
