Western Bit

if i ride with a western correction bit, what should i ride with for English?
I used to ride with a regular d-ring, but my 5 yr old horse runs right through it. She is a really nice mover and i’d like to show HUS with her, but I need the right bit. any suggestion?

Does she not like the increased contact or do you think she just needs a stronger bit? If she doesn’t resent mouth contact and you have soft hands you can go to a low port kimberwicke. If she doesn’t like the contact then you need to train her to accept the contact. That will probably need an experienced trainer. I would ask your trainer or an experienced horse person around you so that they can see your mare’s reaction to each bit. I would also try borrowing bits from friends so that you can see if the bit works before you buy one.
